Course

Ballerud Golklubb har landets største drivingrange med ca. 70 utslagsmatter. Denne rangen blir ofte brukt som treningsområde av spillere fra mange andre klubber også, da den ligger sentralt til. Selve banen er en 9-hulls par 3 bane med store velholdte greener. Banen er ypperlig som treningsbane om man ønsker å forbedre sine innspill.

Tees, course difficulty and extra recevied strokes

On a sloped course, each tee is given spcific course rating (CR) and slope rating values for men and women. The number of extra received strokes for the tee and gender in addition to the course par is calculated by the following formula (and rounded to nearest whole number):

Tee Definitions = Red (Ladies Tee), Blue (Junior tee), Yellow (Men's Tee), White (Competitition tee), Black (Competitition tee)
Slope Rating - slope = Represents the difficulty of a course for bogey golfers relative to scratch golfers. The higher the slope, the more difficult the course plays for bogey golfers. A number ranging from 55 to 155 - 113 is considered average and should be set on an unsloped course.
Course Rating - cr = Represents the difficulty for the scratch player relative to the course par. The higher the slope, the more difficult the course plays for scratch golfers. The number ranges from +- 10 of the course par - the course par (i.e. 72) is considered average and should be set on an unsloped course.
